I went to Alterations & More based on the reviews to get a bridesmaids dress altered for my friend’s wedding in Connecticut. I was not happy with the work that was done for $116 in alterations. The work is extremely sloppy and you can see the stitching from the outside (see photos - the threading was also a shade off). When I questioned why the inside lining wasn’t lined up to where it should be, I was told that it was “the wiring”. There are no wires in this gown. I also had the bottom hemmed and it’s uneven and a bit too long. When I tried the dress on, I was told it looked perfect by the seamstress. My mom was able to fix the lining on the bodice so that it’s not as noticeable. But I’m still disappointed in the quality of work that was done for the price that I paid. Needless to say, I won’t be going back.

Fast and professional service also very friendly people. The lady did an excellent job hemming my overall . I dropped it off in the morning and in couple hours garment was ready for pick up . Thank you Mr. Juan

Great customer service, but fairly overpriced for the work done. Had I known I would be paying $50 to get my gfs dress cut off a few inches off with scissors with no seem around the bottom I would’ve just done this myself at home for free.

Talk about efficiency…I dropped off a shirt that needed to be tailored this past Monday (March 11th) and told the nice ladies that I needed it in a couple of weeks. That seemed to sit well with them and the lady at the register asked if the 19th of March would be okay. Sure, no problem!
Yesterday afternoon, one day after leaving the shirt with them, I received a text informing me that it was ready to go. When I picked it up, it was absolutely perfect and tailored exactly the way I requested.

I have not worked with any sewing professionals in the area, and tbh I don't want to. Maria has worked at this for so many years. She no longer does garment-making, just alterations. She knows exactly what she can do and what won't work. Her work is perfect. I just wish I had discovered her years ago - I could have saved so many garments I loved but that didn't fit well.
