Our stay at The Lodge Alley Inn in Charleston was absolutely wonderful! We had a beautiful and spacious 1-bedroom loft that was perfect for our needs. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The location is unbeatable—everything we wanted to do downtown was within walking distance, so we never even needed our car! We can’t wait to come back. The Lodge Alley Inn has quickly become one of our favorite properties!

Place was solid. Incredible location walking was easy to everything in downtown Charleston. Room could have been a little cleaner but not a big deal. The staff was probably the worst part about this place. Some were very rude but most were very pleasant. Overall solid spot for the money.

We stayed here during Hurricane/Tropical Storm Helene. I slept like a baby. This place really seems like it was built to withstand whatever tantrums Mother Nature wants to throw at it.

The wood floors were designed to prevent intrepid teenagers from sneaking around. You, your neighbors, people down the street... all of them can hear when you move around. And am I the only person that's bothered by the slight inclines in the rooms. I first noticed it moving from the room's door to the bathroom sink. It was a very slight incline, and the tile hid it well, but I could feel it. I also saw evidence of it out in the halls. It bothered me a lot, but others in my group not much at all.

My stay was nice. The check was great and the person that checked us in was excellent and made us feel very welcomed. The only problem with the room is that you have to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. I also had an issue with seeing a rat in the courtyard while enjoying sitting in the courtyard. The person that assisted with luggage was extremely nice and helpful.

Fantastic, as always. Location is perfect. Natalie was professional and friendly when we checked in. I had two separate reservations so had to switch rooms mid-stay; Jody took great care of me during this process. Eat at High Cotton during your stay!

The front desk staff in the evenings is phenomenal! Cindy and Levolia are lovely. The hotel is not kid friendly though. The carpet in the room is filthy even after they washed it for us while we were out. I've attached a photo of the carpet and my sons foot with dirt from the same day they washed. I'd recommend valet parking though it's expensive, the valet men are lovely. The fountain and patio area are very nice and we had a great time sitting out in the evenings. Though we stayed in a one room with a sitting area, I wish there were two sinks to wash coffee/drink cups. Walking back to the bathroom was inconvenient. The fridge is tiny so we couldn't keep our leftovers or snacks for my child. The fireplace also was uncooperative when trying to turn it off when it was turned on in error. The TV had a large selection but the quality isn't great. The internet does not have a strong signal outside of the bedroom. The bathroom is nice but does not have a tub. There is no pool but it's a convenient location for sight seeing and food options.

This place is right in heart of the French Quarter area, so everything is walking distance - such a great location! We stayed in a one bedroom flat. Our room was ready early, clean, and fully stocked with everything we needed. All of the staff we encountered were wonderful, and the courtyard is gorgeous.

My husband and I went to Charleston as part of our 30th wedding anniversary trip! The stay at The Lodge was perfect! The location was walkable to all the eateries, shopping, and sightseeing you could want. We valleyed our car upon arrival and didn't need it once. The full kitchen was a nice feature, but we only used it to make coffee and heat up pizza. Why would you need it with all the great eats the area has to offer. The bed was super comfy, and we really enjoyed our coffee and evening spirits in the courtyard.
