Dr. Tom's Classroom PE Exam Prep -

I graduated from an engineering school three years ago, and my second employer required that I eventually get my PE. I had no idea where to start studying for the Mechanical Thermo & Fluids exam, and after some Googling found a couple options. After talking to coworkers and friends, I decided on Dr. Tom for a couple reasons. First of all, after taking the class I've seen how Dr. Tom really cares about teaching the material. He only teaches what is relevant to the exam and skips the hard low percentage chance questions that could possibly be on the test. Second of all, the 'Dr. Tom Method' which teaches you how to take the exam is an important part of the test taking process that helped me keep moving through the exam. Thirdly, the cost of the program is one of the more inexpensive options out there and is still very high quality. I ended up paying in installments, unlocking three weeks at a time, which allowed me to start right away even though I didn't have all the money saved up. Lastly, the videos are high quality and easy to follow, the questions in the class were very similar to the exam, and the quizzes and practice tests prepared me for the format of the PE Exam. I passed first time around!

My advice to you is to pay the small amount of money for the first three weeks of Dr. Tom's Classroom and then decide for yourself. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well the course is put together. Thank you Dr. Tom!

I used DTC to prepare for the MDM PE Exam. For reference, I was about 6 years removed from school when I began the course. I knew I wanted to use a prep course and 3 colleagues of mine had recommended DTC, so I decided to go with it. The price was very competitive prepared to other courses, and considering the prep services I received, I feel it was a great value. Dr. Tom is very thorough in describing his method (aka how he solves problems), much more so than my experience in college. The course was very well structured and helps keep you keep a reasonable pace while teaching you about what you actually need to pass the exam. DTC adequately prepared me so that when exam day came, I had no doubts that I was ready to go. I passed the exam on my first try. I highly recommend anyone looking for PE exam prep to consider DTC.

I signed up for DTC TFS because it had good reviews and was significantly less expensive than some of the big names. I was very happy with the course and it was absolutely the difference between passing and not passing for me. I really appreciated the way the course was broken down into manageable chunks. I work full time and have two young kids so carving out a couple of 3-hour blocks each week for some of the other prep courses wasn’t feasible. DTC allowed me to sit down and do a 10-minute or 30-minute chunk when I had some free time, and if things got crazy I could just finish that module and walk away for the day. Dr. Tom did a great job breaking down the material into manageable pieces and building on the basics and working up to the more complex. His strategies for instilling time management and familiarity with the reference handbook throughout the course were also extremely helpful. I was a little nervous going into the exam because there were a handful of more complex problems from the course that I didn’t have down pat but I walked out of the exam a few hours early, surprised by how easy it was. I felt like the course was well balanced – I was more than prepared for the exam, but I didn’t feel like any of my prep time was wasted or overkill. The course was absolutely worth the money and I would recommend it to my coworkers. I did skim one review textbook from a different company before the exam to see different sample problems and strategies and I’m glad I did because it gave me a little more comfort when I saw problems of a different style than the ones Dr. Tom chose, but I don’t think I needed anything more than DTC to pass.

All the lessons are clear and broken up efficiently to be able to complete the course while also having a full time job. I recommend this course to anyone interested in taking the PE exam.

I found the Dr. Tom's course to be excellent. It helped me to pass the PE exam last month.
I followed it to a tee, so that is important. As part of that, I completed the course about 4-5 weeks prior to the exam. I gave myself enough time to take the Final exams, then review any weaknesses with 2 weeks or so to go.
I found the price of the course to represent a very good value. I enjoyed the presentations. And I found the exam taking tips extremely useful. Especially adhering to the suggested strategies. My deep thanks to Dr. Tom and his team of presenters!

I passed the Thermal and Fluid Systems PE exam on the first try after using Dr. Tom's classroom to prepare for the exam. I only used this course and the official practice exam in my preparation, and I found these resources sufficient for the exam. The main advantages of this course are that it greatly simplifies your preparation by cutting out any need to plan which topics to study and how long, and it also gives you thorough exposure to the types of problems you will encounter on the exam. After completing the course, I went through each question on Dr. Tom's practice exams, repeated all of the quiz problems, and went through the official practice test, and I felt quite prepared for the actual exam.

Dr. Tom's Mechanical Course for the Thermal & Fluid Systems exam was the reason I passed the PE exam. I attempted to study independently the first time I took the PE exam (machine design), and I ended up falling short. I knew that I needed help and found some of Dr. Tom's free instructional videos on YouTube. I liked his style of teaching and step-by-step approach. After watching his video explaining which PE exam to take, I decided to study for the TFS exam and purchase his course. Week by week I re-learned the old concepts from college and gained confidence in my abilities. By exam day I felt prepared and calm knowing that I was ready for the challenge. The actual PE exam was extremely challenging but I walked out knowing that I had passed. I found out a week later that I had passed and soon after got my PE license in Texas. The license truly does open a whole new world of possibilities. I am forever grateful to DTC for providing an amazing course. I would not be a PE today if it wasn't for this course. If you are on the fence about purchasing the course, just do it. You won't regret it.
