Hope Cottage

This is the beginning of my nightmare. The 80s Her name was Carolyn..she was a social worker. She told me I could not stay with a white couple because black people should be with black people. Love is love ..what I needed was love. Not that horrid place I was placed in. 20 yrs in therapy 6 prescription later I'm still trying to heal.

We have been with Hope Cottage for three years now. Our case manager, Stephanie, for two of those. Stephanie has been a kind, compassionate, supportive, quick to respond, and provide us any with resources we need. She is always there when we need her. We have had not only great interactions with Stephanie, but the other members of Hope Cottage as well, and they offer great training and support to foster families.

Hope Cottage has been an AMAZING agency to work with so far! Our foster care case manager Stephanie Goerlitz has been a pleasure to work with! She is always there to answer any questions we may have! Our family can’t imagine going on this magnificent life changing journey with any one else! If you are wanting a fantastic and caring agency as well as a one of a kind case manger, then look no further because Hope Cottage is the place!! :)

My husband and I have been working with Stephanie at Hope Cottage for a number of years, during which we fostered two sets of children. She has been invaluable in guiding us through the foster care system. Hope Cottage has been nothing short of amazing, and we couldn't recommend an agency more highly.

Hope Cottage is such an amazing agency to work with. We always felt so supported by them throughout our entire journey with fostering and then adoption. Our case manger, Stephanie Goerlitz, never left our side and always went above and beyond for us. She was such a pleasure to work with. Our life has truly been forever changed and that's all because of Hope Cottage.

Hope Cottage has been very helpful, gracious and realistic in our interactions with them for more than a year now. We were helped by many and have permission to share our current caseworker’s name (Stephanie) as being incredibly helpful, attentive, and an example of the empathy and kindness we have seen in Hope Cottage staff interacting with us.

Today (Oct.14) is my 70th birthday. My parents adopted me from Hope Cottage in Feb 1954. We attended some grand Christmas parties at Hope Cottage thru the 1950's and early 60's. They always had special celebrity guests. My favorite year was when Roy Roger's and Dale Evans came and entertained. As you know, Roy and Dale adopted 2 children thru Hope Cottage. I'm happy to see it is still helping children find a family. I still have my adoption paper work. It is 1 page! Thank you from a very old amumnus.
